In a move reminiscent of past political maneuvers, a new group called “Republicans For Kamala” has recently surfaced, claiming to represent disillusioned Republicans who are willing to back Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. However, according to newly uncovered audio, this group may not be as grassroots as it appears. The recordings suggest that the Harris campaign itself might be behind this so-called Republican organization.
The revelations come from a recent report by The Maine Wire, a conservative publication that released audio of a conversation between a “citizen journalist” and Peter Mills, a well-known Democratic figure in Maine. Mills, who is the former executive director of the Maine Turnpike Authority and the brother of Democratic Governor Janet Mills, revealed in the recording that the group “Republicans For Kamala” might actually be a front for the Harris campaign.

In the conversation, the undercover journalist, using the alias “Tim Dillon,” inquired about the legitimacy of the “Republicans For Kamala” group. Mills, who expressed interest in the group, mentioned that Amy Cookson, a staffer on Harris’s campaign, was involved in organizing it. “I think she’s a paid worker,” Mills said in the recording. “I think that’s her job here… she has an organization called ‘Republicans for Harris.’” Mills further suggested that the group was a national effort orchestrated by the Harris campaign, aimed at attracting Republicans disillusioned with former President Donald Trump.
