Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina is a prospective vice presidential candidate that Trump lauded during a Fox News town hall with Laura Ingraham.

Scott suspended his own presidential campaign in November and backed Trump prior to the New Hampshire primary.
“You have to have somebody that would be a good president. A lot of people are talking about that gentleman over there,” With a gesture toward Scott, Trump told Ingraham, eliciting cheers from the audience.
“He’s been so great, such a great advocate. Tim Scott, he has been better for me than for himself. I watched his campaign and he doesn’t like talking about himself, he talks about Trump. I said, Tim, you are better for me than for yourself. He’s fantastic and a fantastic person,” Trump added.
Despite facing racist remarks on the internet that a prominent social media site permitted to gain traction, Scott presented the Republican answer to President Biden’s April 2021 congressional speech.
