Donald Trump, the former president, escalated his legal battle with the New York system on Friday afternoon by vehemently refusing to abide by a payment order worth more than $350 million.
Trump promptly and angrily attacked Judge Engoron from his Mar-a-Lago home, calling her “corrupt” and criticizing New York for its purported financial difficulties.

“I also knew we have a corrupt judge. He’s not a respected man,” Trump stated. “Again, I said before, he’s been overturned on this case by the appellate division four times already. It’s a record. Nobody’s ever been overturned on one case four times.”
The previous president’s criticism of the court did not end there. He expanded his observations to include the entire state of New York. “It’s a state that’s going bust because everybody’s leaving and it’s all headed up by Biden who’s destroying our country.”

Judge Arthur Engoron’s decision earlier on Friday ordered Trump to pay more than $350 million and prohibited him from doing business in New York State for a period of three years. This historic choice might significantly alter Trump’s future business endeavors in the state’s economic sphere in addition to putting his financial reserves at risk.
The court concluded that in order to get loans and insurance at favorable rates, Trump and his colleagues committed fraud by giving banks and insurers false financial information.
