Does Donald Trump want to nominate a woman as vice president in the future?
In an exclusive interview with NBC News, Trump addresses his consideration of a female running mate.
When questioned about the idea by “Meet the Press” anchor Kristen Welker, Trump spoke favorably about it.
“Are you leaning toward a woman?” In the Sunday broadcast interview, Welker posed the question.
“I like the concept, but we’re going to pick the best person,” Trump said.
“But I do like the concept, yes.”
Trump emphasized that he makes an effort to avoid “thinking too much about it,” adding that the moment isn’t right yet and that his main priority is to win the Republican primary.
Trump especially emphasized Kristi Noem, the governor of South Dakota, for her outstanding record.
“She’s been a great governor.”

“She gave me a very full-throated endorsement, a beautiful endorsement actually.”
“And, you know, it’s been a very good state for me.”
“And certainly she’d be one of the people I’d consider, or for something else maybe. But we have a lot of people. We have a lot of great people in the Republican Party.”
Noem openly backed Trump at the South Dakota event.
Trump opposes setting an age restriction for presidential candidates, but he advises that Vice President Biden take a cognitive test to determine his suitability for government.

Trump has an unassailable lead in Republican primary surveys.
Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, trails behind Trump in the polls with just 12.7% of the support of potential primary voters, giving him a huge majority of 56.6%. The remaining competitors are far behind in the single digits.
