CIA officials are being accused of making explosive claims that they are trying to hide the Covid-19’s true origins. A brave whistleblower claims that payments were used to alter the results of the investigation and advance the theory that the virus originated in animals rather than a “lab leak.” The investigation’s credibility is called into significant doubt by this bombshell disclosure, which necessitates quick action from Congress.
Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic and Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence have formally asked for all pertinent documents and records pertaining to the spy agency’s initial handling of the pandemic in a letter addressed to CIA Director William Burns. Notably, the Republican leaders have also brought forward information from a trustworthy source that claims six experts were reportedly given financial incentives to change their opinions.
“According to the whistleblower, at the end of its review, six of the seven members of the Team believed the intelligence and science were sufficient to make a low confidence assessment that COVID-19 originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China,” The heads of the House panels wrote.
“The seventh member of the Team, who also happened to be the most senior, was the lone officer to believe COVID-19 originated through zoonosis.”
“The whistleblower further contends that to come to the eventual public determination of uncertainty, the other six members were given a significant monetary incentive to change their position,” pointing out that the analysts were “experienced officers with significant scientific expertise.”
Congressmen Turner and Wenstrup have requested a taped interview with CIA Chief Operating Officer Andrew Makridis because they believe he was involved in convincing specialists to reject the idea that the event was caused by a lab leak.
According to the notion, gain-of-function research was being done by Chinese scientists at a Wuhan lab to make Covid-19 more hazardous. Unfortunately, they were unable to contain the virus, and it either spread to an employee or found another way to escape. The U.S. officials came to the conclusion earlier this year that the Wuhan lab was likely where the original coronavirus first emerged. However, a conclusive response cannot be achieved due to China’s unwillingness to allow an outside examination.

As Democrats gravitate toward the opinion that China may have been involved for the research that potentially led to the global epidemic, the White House avoids concerns about the repercussions for China.
