Donald Trump Jr. Gets a 2-word Warning That Shocks Fox News Execs

Tucker Carlson is targeted by Fox News, as are his followers, including the son of the previous president.

On Wednesday afternoon, Donald Trump Jr., a previous frequent visitor to Fox News, tweeted that his contacts at the network had told him to “expect retaliation” for backing Carlson, who had recently been fired from his prime-time program. Media sources show that the network has subsequently targeted Carlson with a regular stream of damaging revelations.

Two days before to the tweet, Trump Jr. said on a podcast that he’d “been watching the censorship happening, even in conservative mainstream media.”

“Have heard from a few of my friends at Fox News that the leftist executives running things there are pissed at me for calling them out over firing Tucker and to ‘expect retaliation,’” he said.

“A lot of good people still work at Fox, but their RINO leadership is at war with conservatives!”

Trump Jr. criticized Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for being mute on Carlson’s dismissal during a flurry of tweets and retweets in favor of Carlson. DeSantis is seen to be his father’s biggest, albeit undisclosed, competition for the GOP presidential nomination at the time this occurs.

Additionally, he claims that the network leaked information to The New York Times in order to defend firing Carlson; the network disputes this.

Trump Jr. attributes the firings of Tucker Carlson, Dan Bongino, and himself on Fox News policy. On a recent podcast, he expressed these ideas.

“I’ve been watching the censorship happening, even in conservative mainstream media,” Trump Jr. reportedly remarked on the program “Steak for Breakfast” according to The Daily Beast. (You can listen to the podcast here. The quotes from Trump Jr. begin at the 4:50 mark.)

“You saw what Fox did to Tucker Carlson last week, and the week before that, it was Dan Bongino, and, you know, the people who would actually question some of that narrative like: Is it a brilliant plan to send $130 billion to Ukraine, one of the most corrupt nations in the world?”

He added that, “I used to be on Fox three, four, five, six, 10 times a week. I haven’t been on in nine months. Not a call, not an invite, not anything.”

“So I understand what it appears like they’re trying to do to the America First movement. You know, Tucker was another one of those voices.”

Does the phrase “expect retaliation” apply to Donald Trump Jr. Note that this train travels in both directions. Just one week after Carlson was fired, the former president holds his first campaign town hall on CNN rather than the conservative rival Fox News.

Insiders at Fox News have threatened Trump Jr. with “retaliation”. But this sounds very like the strategy they employed against Carlson when they had a “oppo file” of damaging material about him. Fox News intended to use this document to keep Carlson quiet until the outrage over his termination subsided.

How can a network, which professes to value freedom and conservatism, continue to fund opposition research and use retaliation threats? The consistency of their behavior with their professed principles is called into doubt by this.
