NBA Team Just Apologized For This “Outrageous” Statement

In recognition of Women’s History Month, the Toronto Raptors recently had to rescind a significant remark. Following a well lauded video in which three different players discussed what makes women “run the world,” invoking Beyonce’s inspirational anthem “Girls Run The World,” there was much more that might have been said and done. They swiftly apologized for not living up to expectations when it came to recognizing and rewarding people that propel advancement globally in light of the strong comments they received from their audience.

“Girls run the world because they are the only ones that can procreate. They birth everybody,” The Raptors athletes answered. The film was quickly removed after being criticized for being “misguided and rushed.”

The Raptors were compelled to apologize for the purported lack of “inclusion” in their video. “We’re an organization that prides itself on doing the right thing when it comes to inclusion and representation, and we made a mistake (Tuesday). Our sincerest apologies to our players, our staff and our fans – we’ll work to do better today and every day after,” said the group in a statement.

“Women HISTORY month. The clue is in the word history. Historically, every one who has been born, Every Single Human who ever was, has been born to a WOMAN. @Raptors wtf are you apologizing?” a Twitter user enquired.

“Nothin wrong w/ giving props for the coolest thing a human can do,” A well-known YouTuber named Toby Turner contributed.

The NBA issued a clear statement about prejudice in February when it suspended one of its players for making a derogatory homophobic comment in a post-game interview.

After the Brooklyn Nets’ victory against the Chicago Bulls, Cam Thomas of the team was fined a whopping $40,000 by NBA authorities for his “derogatory” comments.

Thomas and Dinwiddie addressed the dynamic duo’s new cooperation with viewers in an interview that aired on TNT.

Dinwiddie gave the trade of Dorian Finney-Smith to Brooklyn a lighthearted spin two days ago. He made fun of the fact that although the Nets may not have gotten the guy with the greatest skill in this trade, they definitely got one with good looks!

“And the Nets needed some help in that department,” said Dinwiddie. After the game on Thursday night, Cam Thomas responded to a question from TNT about Dinwiddie’s remark, “We already had good-looking guys, no homo.”
