The efforts of the House Select Committee to look into the violence on January 6 have been further hampered since former President Donald Trump rejected their subpoena in October. Consequently, in light of this current investigation, MPs decided against continuing their conversation with him.
The January 6 Select Committee completed its inquiry as the 115th Congress came to an end. Democrats were able to complete their report before the start of the new sessions, despite having lost the majority in the midterm elections in November.
