Early voting is officially underway in Ohio, and while it remains far too early to draw firm conclusions about the outcome of the upcoming elections, the first signs are already attracting attention — particularly among Republicans watching the early turnout data.
Election officials are cautioning that the numbers are still developing, but there are indications that voter participation could be stronger than it was during last year’s election cycle.
“It’s not gonna be quite presidential numbers, um, but I do think it will be stronger than last year,” Wood County Board of Elections Director Terry Burton said.
Burton also stressed that election officials will have a much clearer picture once the election is complete and the final numbers can be compared with previous election cycles.
