Senate Majority Leader John Thune is sounding the alarm about Republicans’ chances of holding onto the Senate this November.
The South Dakota Republican acknowledged in a recent interview that Democrats could potentially regain control of the upper chamber, a warning that comes as the GOP heads toward a competitive midterm election environment.
But Thune’s warning is already drawing sharp criticism from conservatives who argue that Republican voters have plenty of reasons to be frustrated — particularly over the Senate leadership’s handling of President Donald Trump’s election-integrity agenda.
