A wealthy Texas businessman took his immigration dispute to national television after federal agents detained his fiancée at a Houston airport.
But the Department of Homeland Security says one critical fact was missing from the sympathetic account: her authorized stay in the United States had expired more than two years earlier.
John Gannon, a 75-year-old businessman who reportedly owns more than 1,000 billboards along with business interests in Mexico, publicly criticized the Trump administration after ICE detained his 45-year-old fiancée, Yasmin Suarez Reyes.
