CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil may have returned from vacation to an uncomfortable reality: viewers apparently didn’t miss him.
While Dokoupil was away from the broadcast, former ABC News correspondent Matt Gutman temporarily took over the anchor desk — and promptly delivered CBS its strongest audience in months.
Gutman’s broadcasts attracted roughly 4.1 million viewers during the week, according to Nielsen figures reported by Status and obtained by the Daily Mail.
