The Trump administration is escalating its crackdown on alleged fraud and abuse in Obamacare, with federal officials saying they have already stopped roughly 2.9 million people from receiving Affordable Care Act subsidies they were not eligible to receive.
The findings have opened a new front in the long-running political battle over the health care law and raised fresh questions about how effectively the federal government verified enrollment during the Biden administration.
According to a June report obtained by Fox News Digital, officials found that Obamacare enrollment had climbed dramatically during the Biden years, rising from roughly 10 million people at the beginning of his presidency to about 22 million at its 2024 peak. The Trump administration subsequently launched a review of the explosive growth to determine how many enrollments were legitimate.
