Cracker Barrel has made a major leadership change nearly one year after a controversial attempt to modernize the iconic restaurant chain triggered an extraordinary backlash from customers.
CEO Julie Masino is stepping down, and the company has chosen David Deno, the former chief executive of Bloomin’ Brands, as her successor. Deno is set to take over on August 10, while Masino will remain with the company in an advisory role through October 9.
The timing is hard to ignore.
