Now, a new controversy is turning the spotlight back on Smith’s own operation.
According to records recently released by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, members of Smith’s Special Counsel Office were involved in a series of security incidents involving classified materials while investigating Trump. The disclosures have sparked fresh questions about whether the same standards applied to Trump were being followed inside the office responsible for prosecuting him.
