A startling courtroom mistake on Thursday briefly exposed one of the most closely guarded pieces of evidence in the Tyler Robinson murder case, despite a judge’s explicit order preventing it from being shown to the public before trial.
The unexpected disclosure occurred during the ongoing preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, the 23-year-old Utah man accused of assassinating conservative commentator Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University in September 2025. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty if Robinson is ultimately convicted.
The hearing has already generated significant attention as investigators and witnesses continue to reveal new details surrounding the killing that shocked conservatives across the country. But Thursday’s proceedings took an especially dramatic turn when images of what prosecutors describe as Robinson’s confession note suddenly appeared on the court’s public livestream.
