Jasmine Crockett built a national profile by delivering fiery soundbites and unapologetic attacks on Republicans, often portraying herself as one of the Democratic Party’s rising stars. Earlier this year, she even declared on national television that she was among the 535 most powerful people in America because of her position in Congress.
Just a few months later, however, Texas Democrats delivered a stunning political rebuke.
After losing her bid for higher office, Crockett resurfaced at the Essence Festival in New Orleans, where she accused her own party of neglecting one of its most loyal voting blocs. The irony was difficult to ignore. For years, Crockett had enthusiastically defended Democratic leadership in Congress, yet she was now publicly criticizing the same party for failing Black Americans.
