Whoopi Just Got Hit With Bad News

For decades, ABC News and its daytime talk show The View have positioned themselves as defenders of journalism and guardians of democracy. Now, a major conservative media watchdog is asking federal regulators to take a hard look at whether the network has lived up to the responsibilities that come with holding broadcast licenses.

The latest challenge comes from the Media Research Center (MRC), which has filed a petition with the Federal Communications Commission seeking to block the renewal of several ABC-owned television station licenses. The filing follows an extensive review of the network’s programming and accuses ABC of operating with a deeply partisan agenda while benefiting from access to the public airwaves.

According to the petition, the watchdog group examined nearly four decades of ABC content, reviewing tens of thousands of hours of programming and producing hundreds of studies focused on the network’s political coverage.
