Supreme Court Hands Trump a 6-3 Immigration Win

President Donald Trump secured another significant legal victory Wednesday after the Supreme Court ruled that his administration can move forward with ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for hundreds of thousands of migrants from Haiti and Syria, marking another major step in his effort to overhaul U.S. immigration policy.

In a 6-3 decision, the nation’s highest court concluded that the Trump administration may immediately begin removing TPS protections while the broader legal battle over the policy continues in the lower courts. Although the case itself is not yet fully resolved, the ruling gives the administration authority to start dismantling protections that had remained in place because of earlier court orders.

The decision impacts roughly 350,000 Haitian nationals and approximately 6,000 Syrian migrants who have been legally living and working in the United States under the humanitarian program. Unless future court rulings intervene, many of those individuals could eventually lose their legal status and become subject to deportation proceedings.
