FCC Targets ‘The View’ Over Alleged Bias Concerns

A conservative media watchdog is escalating its criticism of ABC’s daytime program “The View,” arguing the long-running talk show is not a legitimate news interview platform but instead functions as a politically driven program operating under the appearance of journalism.

The dispute comes as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) reviews whether ABC should be required to provide equal airtime to political candidates after Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico appeared on the program earlier this year. The appearance triggered questions about whether opposing candidates should have been offered comparable airtime under federal broadcasting rules.

ABC’s parent company Disney has responded forcefully, launching an on-air campaign urging viewers to push back against the FCC inquiry. The company is framing the investigation as an attempt at government overreach, arguing that “The View” is a protected news interview program. However, critics strongly disagree.
