For years, Hollywood celebrities have threatened to leave the United States whenever elections failed to go their way.
Some followed through.
Rosie O’Donnell relocated to Ireland. Ellen DeGeneres reportedly settled in England. Actor Richard Gere chose Spain.
But leaving apparently wasn’t enough.
This week, Gere traveled to Norway and used an international human rights gathering to launch a blistering attack on President Donald Trump and the millions of Americans who returned him to the White House.
The appearance quickly became another example of a growing trend among elite celebrities: departing the country while continuing to lecture the people who still live there.
Gere Uses Human Rights Event to Attack Trump
Speaking at the Oslo Freedom Forum, Gere took the stage while presenting the prestigious Václav Havel International Prize for Creative Dissent.
