President Donald Trump is once again sounding the alarm over California’s slow and drawn-out election counting process, accusing Democrats of attempting to “steal” key races as millions of ballots continue to be processed days after Election Day.
With major contests still undecided—including the race for Los Angeles mayor and the high-profile effort to replace California Gov. Gavin Newsom—Trump unleashed a sharp warning on Wednesday night, pointing to what he called suspicious delays in vote reporting across the state.
“There’s BIG cheating by the Dumocrats in California,” the president wrote on Truth Social.
“Votes are all tied up. May not be in for weeks. Under investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles.”
At this stage, it remains unclear whether any formal investigation has been initiated at Trump’s direction or request. Newsweek reported it reached out to both the White House and the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney’s Office seeking clarification, but no additional details were immediately provided.
