A dispute between Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna and a prominent activist with the far-left group Code Pink is continuing to draw attention after video footage of the encounter spread across social media this week.
The incident, which took place on Capitol Hill following a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing featuring Secretary of State Marco Rubio, has sparked a heated debate about what exactly occurred and whether criminal charges could ultimately follow.
Luna has maintained that the activist crossed a serious line by making physical contact with her while she was leaving the hearing. The activist involved was identified as Medea Benjamin, a leading figure within Code Pink, a group known for its aggressive anti-war demonstrations and confrontational tactics aimed at conservative lawmakers and government officials.
Speaking publicly about the encounter, Luna accused Benjamin of intentionally making contact with her arm while activists followed her through the Capitol complex.
