But the raw numbers tell a different story.
Homan pointed to a sweeping operation that resulted in thousands of removals, including individuals convicted of serious crimes. Among them were violent offenders tied to homicide, assault, and sex-related convictions, along with known gang affiliates. Those figures, largely absent from mainstream coverage, represent what Homan calls the “scoreboard” that critics ignored.
