Hollywood Star Goes Off on White Women Who Backed Trump

Hollywood actress Elizabeth Banks is drawing fresh criticism after openly targeting women who helped send President Donald Trump back to the White House, questioning their voting decisions in the 2024 election and framing her comments through the lens of her well-known role in The Hunger Games franchise.

Banks made the remarks during a recent episode of the Bustle podcast, released Tuesday and first highlighted by Variety. During the conversation, she used her character Effie Trinket as a political comparison while urging women to resist what she described in highly charged terms as a “fascist regime.”

At one point in the discussion, Banks specifically questioned the voting behavior of white female voters in the 2024 election, saying, “Effie is the model, guys. I don’t understand the 53% of White ladies that didn’t vote for Kamala. What were you thinking?”

The comment immediately stood out as part of a broader political message aimed at promoting activism and ideological alignment among women voters. Banks, who has become increasingly vocal in progressive political circles, suggested that her fictional character’s transformation in The Hunger Games should serve as a real-world example for modern audiences.
