President Donald Trump once again showed he has no patience for what he calls “fake news,” this time shutting down an ABC News reporter mid-question aboard Air Force One in a moment that is quickly gaining attention.
The tense exchange unfolded when reporter Mariam Khan attempted to press Trump over a photo tied to a solemn military ceremony. The image in question came from a dignified transfer event honoring fallen U.S. service members. Khan questioned whether using that image in a political fundraising message was appropriate.
Trump did not hesitate.
“I do,” he said. “I didn’t see it. We have a lot of people who work for us. There is nobody that’s better to the military than me.”
At that point, the conversation took a sharp turn.
Trump asked Khan which outlet she represented. When she responded that she was with ABC News, the tone shifted immediately. The president launched into a direct and blistering critique of the network.
