A stunning claim from one of America’s most recognizable conservative commentators is raising serious questions about political retaliation and the reach of federal intelligence agencies.
Former Tucker Carlson says he could soon become the target of a criminal referral to the U.S. Department of Justice after communicating with individuals in Iran, a development he says proves federal authorities are monitoring his private messages.
Carlson revealed the allegation in a video posted on X, warning that officials inside the Central Intelligence Agency may be preparing to accuse him of acting on behalf of a foreign power.
The longtime television host and political commentator dismissed the accusation outright, saying he has never worked for any foreign government and believes the effort will ultimately collapse.
“The CIA is preparing some kind of criminal referral against me, a crime report to the Department of Justice on the basis of a supposed crime I committed,” Carlson said in the video.
