The incident, currently under investigation by the U.S. Secret Service, occurred at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and H Street, according to WTTG-TV.
Authorities say the driver breached the barricade, prompting an immediate response from both the Metropolitan Police and the Secret Service. Law enforcement quickly detained the individual behind the wheel.
Police are actively questioning the driver, though it remains unclear whether any formal charges will be filed. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in the incident.
