Tuesday night’s State of the Union delivered plenty of drama, but when it came to the most jaw-dropping display of Democratic behavior, Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib managed to steal the show.
It was a close contest. Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar earned attention early by yelling at President Donald Trump multiple times during his address. At one point, as Trump discussed Somali immigrant welfare fraud in Omar’s home state, she reportedly called him “a liar and a sick f***.”
“You should be ashamed,” she shouted, ensuring the moment was captured live for millions of viewers. Needless to say, it didn’t play well on television.
Yet it was Tlaib, sitting beside Omar and ever the loyal member of the so-called “Squad,” who delivered the evening’s most unforgettable, and controversial, moment.
