Burchett: “McConnell Won’t Even Let Us VOTE!”

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Polling consistently shows strong public backing for voter ID laws. Advocates point to surveys indicating that a large majority of Americans support such requirements, framing the issue as common sense rather than partisan politics.

Yet despite that support, the bill has not been brought to the Senate floor for debate.

Burchett says the reason is not complicated.

“This guy was the leader of the Senate Republican Conference for 17 years, from 2007 to 2025.”

McConnell’s tenure as GOP leader spanned nearly two decades. During that time, he became one of the most powerful Republicans in Washington. He guided the party through multiple election cycles, Supreme Court confirmations, and intense legislative battles.

But in recent years, questions about McConnell’s health and political direction have intensified.

“The last few years have been difficult for the senior Kentucky Senator.”

McConnell is now 84 years old. He has faced visible health incidents in public settings, prompting renewed scrutiny about his continued role in shaping Senate strategy.

Critics argue that his influence remains significant even as he no longer holds the top leadership title.

“McConnell is 84 and is failing fast. He has no idea what is going on. But he does know he hates Trump, and that keeps him getting out of bed in the morning to screw the people of Kentucky and the US.”

That accusation underscores the deep divide between McConnell and former President Donald Trump. Their political relationship has been strained for years, particularly after the events of January 6 and subsequent impeachment proceedings.

For many Trump-aligned conservatives, the SAVE Act represents more than a policy proposal. It symbolizes a broader battle over the direction of the Republican Party.

Burchett says the blockage is deliberate.

“And now his handlers are blocking the SAVE ACT from reaching the US Senate floor for a vote.”

Supporters of the bill argue that if it were allowed to come to the floor, it would pass or at least force lawmakers to publicly declare where they stand on election integrity.

Over 80% of Americans support the SAVE Act that forces voters to show an ID before voting.

Burchett contends that powerful interests are influencing the decision to keep the bill from advancing.

“But Mitch hates Trump and America so he’s blocking the Senate vote. And he was the Republican Senate leader for over a decade!”

The Tennessee congressman claims donor pressure and establishment politics are driving the move.

“Rep. Tim Burchett explains how McConnell’s handlers and big donors don’t want fair elections. McConnell is following their orders. How sick!”

McConnell’s office has not publicly confirmed that he is personally blocking the bill, and Senate floor scheduling typically involves multiple leaders and procedural considerations. Still, the perception among many conservatives is that Republican leadership is once again slow-walking a priority issue.

As the 2026 election cycle approaches, tensions inside the GOP appear far from settled. The fight over the SAVE Act is shaping up to be another flashpoint in the ongoing struggle between the party’s grassroots base and its Washington establishment wing.

Whether the legislation ultimately receives a vote may determine more than just election procedures. It could signal who truly controls the future of the Republican Party.

  1. Americans (mainly the Conservative grassroot voters): Hello. If Rep Burchett calls it like it is, as usual, mc connell is obstructing a historic opportunity to ensure Election Integrity with non-citizens to be finally excluded from voting.
Suggested: President Trump to haul mc connell into the Oval Office for an -ss reaming and arm-twisting as well as expose’ on the deep state leader still citing an -R after the name. shame the codger.
The Save Act will save our elections for “citizens only”, FINALLY.

  2. Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is not unique to Democrats; it affects every citizen who now believes only politicians can run a country. The Founding Fathers thought otherwise and recommended that leaders be chosen/elected from the Business Community perhaps in order to ensure that advances for the leadership are tied to advances for the common citizen. Economics applies to governance. Trump is a businessman who can see where there are leaks in an economic area. McConnell is such a leak insofar as he is infected with TDS. He hates Trump and he lets his bitterness poison his decision making for his constituency, his country and his own impressive legacy, now no-so-impressive. A sad decline from integrity to personal vendetta.
