ABC’s long-running daytime talk show The View has devoted extensive airtime to the release and fallout of the Jeffrey Epstein files, often framing the discussion through a distinctly progressive political lens. For weeks, the panel has speculated, criticized, and demanded accountability — particularly when the conversation could be steered toward Republicans or former Trump administration officials.
That tone was on full display recently when co-host Sunny Hostin launched a blistering on-air attack against officials tied to President Donald Trump, calling for resignations and firings based largely on allegations and associations rather than proven wrongdoing.
During a segment highlighted by a local NBC affiliate, Hostin focused her ire on Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who acknowledged visiting Epstein’s private island years ago. Hostin framed the admission as disqualifying and demanded immediate consequences.
“This is the Commerce secretary,” Hostin said about Howard Lutnick, who had admitted to visiting Epstein’s island. “This is the person that is the chief advisor on the economy to the president, job growth. We’re talking about trade. The fact that he could lie so audaciously means to me that he is not fit for his position.
