U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi is turning up the heat on Minnesota’s Democrat leadership, accusing Governor Tim Walz of endangering federal law enforcement officers by embracing radical sanctuary-style immigration policies that openly defy federal law.
In a sharply worded letter sent directly to the governor, Bondi warned that Minnesota’s refusal to cooperate with federal immigration authorities has helped fuel chaos, violence, and lawlessness—culminating in a deadly confrontation in Minneapolis that left the city teetering on the edge of unrest.
The letter follows a violent incident during an immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis, where Border Patrol agents were forced to shoot an armed agitator. That shooting quickly triggered riots, clashes with police, and widespread disorder in what has long been considered a liberal stronghold. Radical activists flooded the streets, confrontations escalated, and reports emerged of agitators disrupting public spaces and even religious services.
According to Bondi, the blame does not rest with federal agents doing their jobs—but with Democrat politicians who have deliberately undermined the rule of law.
