Daycare Burglary Story Raises Eyebrows Nationwide

A claimed burglary at a Minneapolis daycare tied to a massive fraud investigation is being met with widespread skepticism, as critics say the story raises more questions than answers.

On Tuesday, a manager at Nokomis Day Care Center—one of several Somali-owned facilities previously exposed in a viral investigation—announced that a mysterious break-in had resulted in the loss of what he described as all of the center’s “important documents.” The timing alone has fueled suspicion, coming just days after explosive reporting uncovered what appears to be a staggering level of daycare fraud.

The daycare was featured in an investigative video by independent journalist Nick Shirley, whose reporting highlighted what he described as widespread abuse of public funds within Minneapolis’ Somali-run daycare network. According to Shirley, his investigation uncovered at least $110 million in fraudulent activity in a single day—a figure that stunned viewers and immediately caught national attention.

Now, the manager of Nokomis Day Care Center, Nasrulah Mohamed, claims the facility was targeted in a suspicious overnight break-in that conveniently resulted in the disappearance of records that could be crucial to any investigation.
