Fairfax County’s Pattern of Protecting Dangerous Criminals
A 23-year-old illegal immigrant from El Salvador, Marvin Morales-Ortez, walked out of a Fairfax County jail Tuesday after charges against him were dropped by Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano, whose campaign received massive funding from George Soros. Less than 24 hours later, Morales-Ortez was implicated in the fatal shooting of a man in his Reston, Virginia home.¹
Morales-Ortez first crossed the U.S. border illegally in 2016 with his mother.² Border Patrol was preparing to deport them when they claimed fear of returning home. An immigration judge dismissed the deportation case in 2022, leaving Morales-Ortez in the country without legal status.³
