A stunning admission out of Fulton County quietly surfaced last week, yet it received remarkably little national attention. County officials acknowledged that at least 315,000 ballots cast during the 2020 election were submitted without required signatures, a violation of Georgia election law that raises renewed questions about the legitimacy of that contest.
In a state where the presidential race was officially decided by just over 11,000 votes, the magnitude of that number is impossible to ignore. If accurate, the total of unsigned ballots exceeds the margin of victory nearly twenty-eight times over, a discrepancy that would have been more than sufficient to flip Georgia’s sixteen electoral votes.
Georgia was not an outlier. The 2020 election hinged on razor-thin margins in a handful of key states. Joe Biden’s reported victory margins in Georgia, Arizona, and Wisconsin were 0.23 percent (11,779 votes), 0.30 percent (10,457 votes), and 0.63 percent (20,682 votes), respectively. In total, fewer than 43,000 votes across those states separated Donald Trump from a second term in the White House.
That figure represents only a fraction of the ballots now called into question in Fulton County alone. The implications are staggering, particularly given the political and cultural upheaval that followed Biden’s inauguration.
