American Soldiers Murdered in Inside Attack

U.S. Army Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres Tovar, 25, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard, 29, of Marshalltown, Iowa, were killed during what should have been a routine joint patrol near Palmyra, Syria.

They were operating alongside Syrian forces when the unthinkable happened.
