In a dramatic escalation of America’s war on international drug cartels, the United States Southern Command confirmed Monday that U.S. forces carried out lethal strikes against narcotrafficking vessels operating in international waters of the Eastern Pacific.

According to the official announcement, Joint Task Force Southern Spear neutralized three cartel-operated boats that intelligence agencies identified as actively transporting illegal narcotics along well-established smuggling routes.
