For years, American farmers have watched the cost of doing business spiral out of control. Tractors now cost as much as houses. Combines come loaded with complicated systems few farmers asked for and even fewer trust. Meanwhile, profit margins have been squeezed tighter every season.

President Donald Trump says he has had enough.
This week, Trump announced a sweeping push to dismantle federal environmental regulations on farm equipment that he says have driven prices through the roof and left farmers trapped between government mandates and financial reality.
Speaking during a roundtable discussion on agriculture, Trump made clear that his administration is moving quickly to undo what farmers have long viewed as regulatory overreach.
“We’re going to take off a lot of the environmental restrictions they have on machinery,” Trump said. “It’s ridiculous.”
Trump Targets Regulations Driving Equipment Costs
Trump argued that environmental mandates have forced manufacturers to pack modern farm machinery with costly technology that offers little benefit to the land but plenty of headaches for the people working it.
