Sen. Mark Kelly is attempting to go on the offensive — and fast — as serious questions continue closing in around him. On Monday, the Arizona Democrat erupted in front of reporters, lashing out at President Donald Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth while the Pentagon pursues what officials are calling “serious allegations of misconduct.” For a man who insists he has nothing to hide, Kelly came out swinging with a level of anger that raised eyebrows across Washington.

The outburst sounded less like a calm response from a seasoned lawmaker and more like a politician desperate to change the narrative.
The tension didn’t start yesterday. It dates back to a video Kelly and other Democrats circulated last month encouraging U.S. troops to reject “illegal orders.” The message was widely criticized as reckless. President Trump didn’t mince words, condemning the stunt as “seditious behavior, punishable by death.” With that, the feud between Kelly and the White House burst into full view.
