Federal agents executed a series of search warrants Thursday on Lakanwal’s $2,000-a-month apartment in Bellingham, Washington. What they found inside raised eyebrows. Neighbors told IBT the residence was “sparse,” with “barely any furniture,” no beds, and people sleeping on couch cushions. Agents seized multiple phones, laptops, tablets, and other electronics as part of what the FBI now admits is a rapidly expanding counterterrorism probe.
