Democrats are spiraling after President Trump torched a group of lawmakers who publicly urged the United States military to ignore so called “illegal orders.” The dramatic clash exploded Thursday when Senator Chris Murphy unleashed a full blown profanity laced tirade that instantly went viral.
The controversy began when six Democrat members of Congress released a heavily scripted video telling military and intelligence officials they “can refuse illegal orders” and “must refuse illegal orders.” The group included Senators Elissa Slotkin of Michigan and Mark Kelly of Arizona, along with Representatives Maggie Goodlander, Jason Crow, Chris Deluzio, and Chrissy Houlahan. None of them provided even a single example of an “illegal order” from the Trump administration.
President Trump immediately blasted the video as dangerous political theater meant to undermine the chain of command. He did not mince words. “This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP??? President DJT” he posted Thursday morning.
