Trump’s Joke Sends Katie Couric Over the Edge!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

“This autopen — so he places presidential portraits along the hallway leading to the Oval Office, and the one he puts up of Joe Biden is an autopen.”

The veteran anchor went on to describe it as “so sophomoric” and “so creepy,” before throwing up her hands and asking, “I mean, what? What is that?”

For someone who once claimed to be a straight-shooting reporter, Couric’s outburst made clear that she has completely embraced her personal disdain for the former president. Her emotional reaction also highlights a growing trend in corporate media — where supposed “journalists” no longer even attempt to hide their bias against conservatives.

This isn’t the first time Couric has let her feelings toward Trump color her coverage. Back in January, during another episode of her podcast, she complained about how difficult it was to report on Trump without appearing partisan. She said:

“People say they don’t want to know, but my job is to tell them what’s happening. And if it’s fact-based reporting, then to pro-MAGA people, it seems biased. And it’s a real conundrum.”

Couric then admitted she often abandons the pretense of objectivity altogether, confessing:

“And sometimes you just have to say, ‘To hell with it, I’m just going to do the best I can.’ But it’s tricky.”

Later, in a separate November episode, Couric questioned how the American people could have possibly re-elected Trump given his “behavior and actions.” Once again, it was less about journalism — and more about personal politics.

Couric’s honesty, while rare in the mainstream press, sheds light on a broader credibility crisis facing the corporate media. CNN host Abby Phillip made a similar admission in October, telling “The Breakfast Club” that her network leans left — sitting “somewhere between Fox News and MSNBC.”

It’s no wonder Americans are tuning out. A Gallup poll released October 2 revealed that just 28% of Americans trust newspapers, television, and radio to report the news “fully, accurately and fairly.” That number has declined from 31% in 2024 — continuing a steady downward spiral in public confidence.

Even more alarming for journalists like Couric: 34% of respondents said they have no trust at all in the media, while another 36% admitted they have “not very much” faith left in news outlets.

Among Republicans, trust in the media has completely cratered — plunging to a record low 8%, the first time it has ever dipped into single digits.

Couric’s outburst isn’t just another soundbite — it’s a symptom of a larger sickness inside America’s press corps. The lines between reporting and activism have blurred beyond recognition, and journalists who once claimed to value truth now seem more interested in shaping political narratives.

Katie Couric may have “gone beyond impartiality,” but judging by the polls, the American people have already gone beyond trusting her.
