One tragedy that shook the nation was the brutal killing of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student murdered by a Venezuelan illegal while jogging on her college campus in Georgia. Her killer had been arrested multiple times but released under Biden’s catch-and-release policies. Similar horrors followed — 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston and Maryland mother Rachel Morin were both killed by illegals Biden’s policies allowed to enter freely.
These heartbreaking stories show why Trump’s enforcement push isn’t about politics — it’s about saving lives.
Beyond the 515,000 deportations, another 1.6 million illegals have voluntarily self-deported, fearing Trump’s uncompromising crackdown. ICE has also arrested over 485,000 more since January, pushing the total number of removals and self-departures past two million in under a year.
“This is just the beginning,” McLaughlin told Fox News Digital. She praised Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem for reviving an agency that “was vilified and barred from doing its job for the last four years.”
The message to illegals is simple and unmistakable: Leave now or face the consequences. And it’s working — migration through Panama’s Darien Gap has dropped an astounding 99.99%.
The turning point came after the shocking assassination of conservative leader Charlie Kirk on September 10. His murder by a radicalized leftist galvanized the country and gave Trump the moral authority to take the gloves off.
Within days, Trump designated MS-13 and major cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations, unlocking new legal powers like RICO prosecutions and massive asset seizures. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller vowed on Kirk’s podcast, “With God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security, and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle, and destroy these networks and make America safe again.”
That promise marked the beginning of an enforcement surge unlike anything seen before.
Obama deported about three million illegals over eight years — earning him the title “Deporter-in-Chief.” But even at his peak, he never hit the numbers Trump is now producing. The difference? Trump came prepared this time.
With $75 billion in ICE funding locked in through 2029, including billions for detention centers and enforcement operations, Trump now commands the most powerful immigration force in U.S. history. He scrapped Obama’s “criminal-priority” guidelines, which only targeted violent offenders, and directed ICE to remove anyone here illegally — period.
That’s why Democrats are panicking: Trump’s not just deporting criminals, he’s systematically undoing the Left’s decade-long effort to normalize illegal immigration.
While Congress squabbled over shutdown theatrics, ICE agents were on the ground rounding up some of the most dangerous offenders in America. In one weekend alone, agents arrested child rapists, kidnappers, and violent criminals from the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, and beyond.
“Nothing – not even a government shutdown – will slow us down from making America safe again,” McLaughlin declared. She blasted Democrats for stalling government operations while ICE agents “aren’t slowing down.”
Trump’s strategy is broader than numbers — it’s a complete overhaul of immigration enforcement. By pulling resources from across federal agencies — DEA, FBI, ATF — and deploying 21,000 National Guard troops, Trump has turned ICE into a national security powerhouse.
He also revived the 287(g) partnership, empowering local police to enforce immigration law directly. Over 866 local jurisdictions now work hand-in-hand with ICE — a move Obama abandoned but Trump has brought roaring back.
Even more effective is Trump’s self-deportation incentive — offering $1,000 to illegals who leave voluntarily, while warning of prosecution for those who stay. The plan has already cleared over 1.6 million people without the cost of detention or deportation flights.
As McLaughlin put it, “This is just the beginning.” With record funding, expanded manpower, and a president unafraid to enforce the law, ICE is now poised to become America’s deportation superpower.
Democrats bet on activist judges and sanctuary city defiance to stop Trump. Instead, they’re watching in disbelief as he obliterates Obama’s record and dismantles the Left’s open-border agenda piece by piece.
This is what it looks like when a president says he’ll secure the border — and actually means it.
