According to a bombshell 60 Minutes interview with Jared Kushner and top negotiator Steve Witkoff, Trump’s patience snapped when Israel launched an airstrike on Hamas negotiators in Qatar on September 9, 2025.
Kushner said, “I think he felt like the Israelis were getting a little bit out of control in what they were doing, and that it was time to be very strong and stop them from doing things that he felt were not in their long-term interests.”
The strike came as Hamas officials were reviewing a Trump-brokered ceasefire proposal in Doha — a move Kushner and Witkoff said made them “feel a little bit betrayed.”
