In a shocking escalation of their war on immigration enforcement, House Democrats are moving to expose and monitor the movements of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents — a move that critics warn could endanger lives and compromise national security.
California Democrat Rep. Robert Garcia announced Tuesday that members of the House Oversight Committee plan to roll out what he called a “master ICE tracker.” The project, according to Garcia, will “monitor” where ICE agents are operating — in effect, creating a roadmap for activists and extremists to track federal officers.
“I shared this with the mayor,” Garcia stated. “Over the course of the next couple of weeks, the Oversight Committee will be launching on their website a ‘master ICE tracker.’”
He added, “We will be essentially tracking every single instance that we can verify (location of ICE agents).”
