A quiet Texas morning turned into something out of a sci-fi movie when a farmer spotted a parachute drifting down toward her land — and what she found next had NASA written all over it.
Ann Vincent Walter, who lives on a farm in Hale County, just north of Lubbock, was going about her day when her son came running in, shouting, “Hurry and come here!” What she saw lying in the middle of her field looked nothing like farm equipment.
“It was a shock, to say the least,” she later told KHOU-TV.
A Mystery in the Field
Walter did what any responsible citizen would do: she called the local sheriff’s department. Deputies arrived expecting maybe a lost drone or a weather balloon. Instead, they discovered the bizarre pile of metal and fabric belonged to someone who had already been looking for it — NASA.
