“She Walked Through My Yard and Called Me a Slur”
In her post exposing the incident, De La Rosa wrote:
“A month ago today Charlie Kirk was shot and killed because someone didn’t like his opinion. Today a Democratic school board candidate came into my yard and called me a MAGA f****t because I told her I was voting for the other candidate because of her affiliation with Emerge NM.”
De La Rosa doubled down after McArthur tried to spin the situation:
“She came to my house on a Friday afternoon, walks through my yard and calls me a slur and now’s she’s the victim. Hell yeah I’m going to share this. I hope it helps every single local race in the country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”

Sarah is also the former Democrat Party Chair of Chaves County.
After the backlash exploded, McArthur attempted damage control — posting a long apology claiming she was an “imperfect person” who “responded inappropriately.”
She wrote:
“I also enjoyed our visit as well. I appreciated your kindness and verbal support while I was talking with you.
I am human and therefore an imperfect person. I apologize to you as well as all the other gracious and kind people I have met while door knocking.”
McArthur then blamed the homeowner’s supposed “hostility,” saying she was “not prepared for the open hostility I was greeted with” and that the question about Emerge New Mexico was “politically motivated.”

She went on:
“I was not expecting it and after she told me her name I realized I was talking to a woman who has been outwardly and aggressively supportive of the most divisive and extremist positions our country has by being a MAGA supporter.
I responded inappropriately for the moment. She may have won this particular battle, but the war for the soul of this country continues.”
“Swearing Is My Lifelong Struggle”
McArthur concluded her post with an excuse that only made things worse:
“I will admit what I meant to say was on the verge of a vulgar swear word but I cut myself off thinking it was not appropriate, only to have the word that was spoken be even worse. Swearing is my lifelong struggle.
I remain committed to all people living their lives in whatever manner brings them joy and happiness. I support LGBTQ rights in all fashions.”
The damage, however, was already done.

Caught on video calling conservatives “MAGA faggots,” then blaming the victim and hiding behind the “imperfect human” excuse, McArthur handed voters a clear picture of who she really is.
Her campaign for kindness didn’t just stumble — it went up in flames.
