A chilling new report from the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) reveals a massive spike in left-wing terrorism across the United States — with attacks this year on pace to reach a level not seen since the 1990s.
The findings show that violent plots and attacks by far-left extremists now make up a rapidly growing share of all domestic terrorist incidents in 2025. At the current rate, researchers warn, this year could end with the highest number of left-wing incidents in three decades.
By July 4, 2025 — even before the shocking assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk and the deadly shooting at a Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility — researchers had already documented five attacks or plots carried out by left-wing extremists.
This alarming trend comes as political tensions reach a boiling point. Analysts point to fiery rhetoric surrounding immigration, policing, and the Trump administration as possible fuel for the rise in violence.
