Democrats have spent years trying to spin lawlessness as “activism.” Now, one of their own got a painful reality check.
On Friday, footage exploded across X showing Illinois Democrat congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh being hurled to the ground by an ICE agent after she attempted to physically block a federal vehicle from leaving a processing center in Chicago. The 26-year-old progressive, who once worked as a journalist, apparently thought her campaign kickoff would involve obstructing immigration enforcement. She guessed wrong.
The Standoff at ICE Broadview
The incident unfolded outside ICE’s Broadview processing center during a protest staged by anti-enforcement activists. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, demonstrators had gathered to shout down agents and obstruct federal operations.
Reporters on the ground say Abughazaleh sat in front of the exit earlier in the day, deliberately preventing vehicles from leaving. NewsNation’s Ali Bradley reported that she was part of a group who planted themselves on the ground to make ICE operations impossible.
