“I called in yesterday after this incident happened. I’m sure you’ve heard about it. My mother-in-law came in and ordered a Mint Majesty Tea in honor of Charlie Kirk, and this was written on her cup,” Garretson told the district manager. “I’m sure your phone lines have been ringing off the hook, and they’re going to continue to ring off the hook until something happens about the situation.”
Her husband added bluntly: “Accountability for sure.”
The couple pressed management for immediate action against the employee responsible.
Starbucks Management Dodges Accountability
But instead of a clear response, the family was met with corporate deflection. The district manager told them: “We’re in the process of the investigation, figuring out what happened. The people who were here yesterday—we’re trying to understand. We’re still looking into the situation. We are taking action.”

That wasn’t good enough for the family, who pointed out that Starbucks had already known about the complaint for more than 24 hours without taking action.
“You did. You knew immediately,” Garretson’s husband fired back.
Garretson herself reminded the manager, “I called yesterday morning. The manager on duty said they would call me yesterday afternoon. Same with my mother-in-law. I heard nothing.”
The manager bizarrely claimed the company had received multiple calls from people pretending to be the victim, making it “challenging” to know the real story. Garretson responded: “Yeah, it’s us. This is our family member. We just picked up the cup.”

Her husband emphasized that his elderly mother was “not even political,” saying, “It’s my senior citizen mother—she’s not even political.”
Garretson added, “Yeah, she could not be a more unpolitical person whatsoever. But she has morality. She knows what happened to this man is wrong and wanted to order this because it’s trending on social media.”
Threat of Protest
The family demanded the store take real action. Her husband warned: “And if not, I will have this whole intersection lined with patriots today. I’m not even joking.”
The district manager admitted: “I don’t think that you are.”
Despite this, Starbucks only offered a refund. Garretson accepted but blasted the lack of urgency: “Yes, please refund her. It doesn’t matter if you’re left or right—what happened is wrong, right? And this adds fuel, putting salt in a wound. It just does. I knew Charlie personally, so you’re adding to that.”
Her husband closed with a direct demand: “We’re looking for immediate accountability and action, not just corporate callbacks and investigations. I’m talking 5:00 PM today. I want some form of action taken against the employee who represents this business and wrote ‘loser’ on my mother’s cup.”
Starbucks Forced to Close
By Wednesday evening, the pressure campaign worked — the Chicago store was forced to temporarily shut down.
Garretson shared the victory online: “We asked Starbucks for accountability by 5pm. When we arrived, the store was temporarily closed. Thank you to everyone who has called and stopped into the store over the past 48 hours. We are all Charlie now.”
Corporate Statement Backfires
Starbucks corporate later issued a bland statement, saying, “There are no restrictions on customers using Charlie Kirk’s name on their order, and we are following up with our team.”
But the response only inflamed critics further, especially after former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani weighed in on the controversy.
Garretson revealed Thursday that despite promises, no one from corporate or the district office had followed up. “48+ hours into #LoserGate and still no call back from the District Manager (even though he promised). Corporate hasn’t reached out either despite multiple attempts. Store is closed, only the drive-thru is open — so I can’t even follow up in person,” she wrote.
The Backlash Grows
What began as one offensive word scribbled on a cup has now exploded into a corporate crisis for Starbucks. Patriots across the country are watching closely to see whether the company will finally hold its employees accountable — or continue hiding behind investigations and press statements.

Starbucks is just another Bud Light. I don’t know why anyone would support such a blatantly WOKE business. Their only concern is their bottom line…so let’s show them ours. No one needs to patronize any business that can’t rrspond to a customer’s legitimate greivance or concern.
